WA’s Growing Quarter

Fertile soils, ample sunshine and seasonal rainfall typify WA’s Growing Quarter.

Renowned for the quality and quantity of its produce, WA’s Growing Quarter also has the potential for new and exciting agriculture-based industries.

WA’s Growing Quarter is the North Eastern Agricultural Region, comprising the Shires of Chapman Valley, Mullewa, Morawa and Perenjori.

Perth is situated 354kms to its southern shire boundary, with Geraldton, a major regional city and port, just 9kms away from its northern border.

Bound by the Batavia Coast to the west, the mining and pastoral regions to the east and the midlands Wheatbelt to the south, WA’s Growing Quarter is also the gateway to the Murchison pastoral area.

WA’s Growing Quarter covers a total of 24,456m², featuring rich agricultural and pastoral land, mining leases, Crown land and reserves, and the main town sites of Nabawa, Morawa, Mullewa and Perenjori.

Commitment to the region has been indicated by the Australian and State Governments’ investment in a number of feasibility studies and agricultural workshops that have enhanced community empowerment and ownership of its future.

The feasibility studies confirmed the potential for a sustainable and diversified resource base for WA’s Growing Quarter. It’s a base that is destined to attract significant agricultural investment.
